Groep R Online Privacy Policy
Version 9 July 2015

1.            General

This privacy policy of Groep R informs you about the way in which information concerning personal data is collected, used, and transferred via this website. Groep R advises you to go through the text of this privacy policy thoroughly before you visit this website. The website is intended for residents of the European Economic Area.

Groep R respects the privacy of the visitors to its website, in accordance with the applicable laws, and in particular with the Privacy Protection Act of 8 December 1992 and its implementing decrees.

By using this website, you declare that you agree with all the provisions contained in this privacy policy.

The website is not intended for children younger than thirteen. No personal data shall be collected about those visitors of which Groep R can be reasonably certain that they belong to this age group.

2.            Active gathering and processing of personal data

The visitor acknowledges and accepts that all personal data which are communicated by him or introduced online, including data communicated or introduced which relate to his travelling party, can be processed by Groep R. The purpose of this processing is to be able to provide optimal service. The personal data may moreover be used for commercial and communication (including “direct marketing”) purposes.

Furthermore, the visitor agrees that, if he enters into a travel contract, his data shall be communicated to processors of personal data on whom Groep R calls and service providers other than Groep R who need the data in order for Groep R to be able to perform the travel contract.

Without prejudice to the preceding paragraph, Groep R undertakes to refrain from disclosing personal data to third parties, except if it has received express permission from the visitor or if it is otherwise legally authorised.

There is no legal obligation for the visitor to answer questions asked by Groep R or to provide information requested by Groep R, provided however, that failure to answer such questions or to provide such information may, depending on the case, authorize Groep R or a Service Provider to refuse to enter into – or to continue — a (pre-) contractual relationship with the visitor. Furthermore, the provision of certain information can be a condition to enjoy certain benefits (e.g. newsletters, actions, competitions, etc.).

The visitor of this website may at all times oppose the possible processing of its personal data upon request and free of charge, if such processing is carried out with a view to direct marketing.

The visitor shall have the right to access the personal data related to him and processed by Groep R and where appropriate, have incorrect data corrected as well as have illegally processed data removed.

3.            Passive collection and processing of personal data

Using this website entails that certain information can be gathered passively through technological means (including IP addresses, cookies, Internet labels, browsing data, etc.), i.e. without the visitor of the website providing the information actively.

An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a number that is attributed to a computer by the Internet service provider in order to grant access to the Internet. Normally, an IP address contains no personal information since it is generally dynamic (it changes each time connection is made with the Internet) and not static. Groep R makes use of the visitor’s IP to investigate problems with the server, to gather information, to determine the fastest connection between the computer and the website, and to manage and improve the website.

A cookie is a piece of information sent by a website to a web browser in order to enable the website to remember certain information and preferences of previous users for future use.
“Session cookies” are temporary cookies that are deleted as soon as the visitor leaves his web browser or switches off his computer. Session cookies are used to improve browsing on websites and to collect static information. This website makes use of session cookies.
“Persistent cookies” are stored on the hard disc and stay there unless they are deleted. Persistent cookies are used in order to invoke previously provided information (such as passwords), to retrieve which components of the website visitors find the most valuable and to adapt the website to the visitor’s preferences. This site uses persistent cookies.

Internet labels (also known as single-pixel GIFs, clear GIFs, invisible GIFs and 1-by-1 GIFs) are smaller than cookies and provide certain information on the server such as the IP address and the web browser type of the visitor’s computer. This website does not use internet labels.

Navigation data (log files, server logs and click stream data) are used by the system administrator to improve the content of the website, for market research and in order to provide information to the visitor. This website uses navigation data.

4.            Contact and changes

Please note that this privacy policy may be subject to change. You will always find the applicable text of the privacy policy on the website. We advise you to consult the privacy policy regularly, and in any case before you consider to provide personal data via the website. This website was last updated on 9 July 2015.
